KEEP ON TOP OF APPLIANCE SAFETY
Nearly every business in the UK uses at least one electrical appliance every day. From office PCs and printers to tills and digital displays, it’s important to ensure they are all in good condition and are safe to operate.
HT Compliance Services offers tailored portable appliance testing services to businesses throughout the Oldham area and beyond. Whether you only use a handful of devices, or your premises is full of essential electrical equipment, you can trust our experts to carefully assess each item to a high standard.
By choosing us, you can have total confidence in the equipment you use, and rest assured knowing your business is fully compliant when it comes to device safety. We can carry this out as a one-off service, or combine it with a more in-depth EICR inspection.
WHAT ITEMS REQUIRE TESTING?
All electrical applicant and equipment used by your business will need to be tested. This can include:
-
Computer equipment
-
Extension cords
-
TVs and media equipment
-
Printers and photocopiers
-
Kettles
-
Vending machines
-
Freezers
-
Electric ovens
This is not an exhaustive list: our team will be more than happy to assess which items require testing.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I REQUEST PAT TESTING?
This depends on the type of business you operate and the conditions your colleagues are in. There are three categories:
-
Medium risk. This covers most businesses such as offices and shops. Testing should be done once a year.
-
Medium-high risk. This mainly covers industrial buildings such as workshops and factories. Testing is usually once every 6 months or annually.
-
High risk. This covers building sites. Testing is needed once every 3 months.
If you are not sure which category your business comes under, we’ll be more than happy to help.
A FLEXIBLE AND CONVENIENT SERVICE
We appreciate that having someone unplug and test all of your appliances can be disruptive. We will always work with you to minimise disruption to your businesses. This could involve testing equipment in stages to ensure you retain some capacity, or when there is low demand for appliances during quieter times of the day.
